Isopropylamine-salt glyphosate total herbicide against seed-borne and perennial annual and biennial weeds

Home use: 150-200 ml/10 l water

TECHNOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

For seed-borne weeds, apply at the lower dose specified in the authorisation document. For seed-borne dicotyledonous weeds, treatment should be carried out at 4 to 8 true leaf phenology, for seed-borne monocotyledonous weeds at 3 to 5 leaf stage.

In the case of perennial dicotyledonous and perennial monocotyledonous weeds, the product should be applied at the intensive growth stage to ensure that the active substance is also released into the underground reproductive formations of the weed. Tarack wheat, pine needles, reeds are most effective in the autumn when nutrient flow to the rhizomes is most intense. The optimum time for treatment is at flowering for succulents and at the time when the leaves are in leaf rosette for field acacia.

Considering the meteorological conditions, glyphosate is most effective at 15-25 °C and high humidity. To be effective, it is important that no precipitation occurs within 6 hours after treatment so that the active ingredient can be fully absorbed by the weed.

In arable crops, before or after sowing until germination, when the sown seeds are covered with a layer of fine crumbs at least 3 cm thick. This technology cannot be used on soils with less than 3% organic matter. For the treatment of perennial weeds after they have been tilled to 15-30 cm. Tillage should be carried out shallowly, in such a way that the stubble is broken up and the dormant buds are thus also thrown out.

In non-agricultural areas: roads, road embankments, drainage ditches in impervious condition, industrial installations, petrol stations, airports, railway lines, total weed control where not prohibited by local regulations.

Total weed control in residential areas, small gardens, cemeteries, where not prohibited by local ordinance.

Weed control of unlined canals, ditch banks against reeds, sedges and other perennial weeds which are difficult to control.

For weed control in pasture and grassland when renovating pasture and grassland prior to breaking up or reseeding.

In lucerne, in the form of spot treatment or complete surface treatment in areas heavily infested with alfalfa. In case of spot treatment, use at a concentration of 0,2-0,3%. For complete surface treatment, the dose is 0,5-0,7 l/ha. The treatment may slightly retard alfalfa growth until the next mowing, therefore full surface treatment is only recommended in heavily infested areas. Treatment should be applied 5-7 days after mowing of the alfalfa. It is not recommended for use in seed-bearing alfalfa or at the seed set stage.

In forestry crops, it may be used for weed and shrub control on any tree species prior to afforestation. After felling, use at a concentration of 3,5 % to control stump borers. For forestry weed control only in spruce, Scots pine and cork pine plantations over two years old. For the protection of pine plantations, the product may be applied when a protective wax layer has formed on the needles.

In vineyards and fruit orchards: table grapes, wine grapes, apple (apple, pear, quince, pear), stone fruit (cherry, sour cherry, peach, nectarine, apricot, currant, plum) and nuts (walnut, almond, hazelnut, chestnut).

It can only be applied in plantations older than 3 years, using spray nozzles with protective discs or other special spraying techniques. Treatment should be carried out in spring until the shoots start to grow or in autumn after fruit harvest. If the weed cover warrants, treatment can be carried out between the two dates with increased precaution. Care should be taken during application not to get the spray on the green parts of the crop (shoots, leaves) as this will cause permanent damage. Seedlings less than 3 years old, which have not yet atrophied, will also be damaged by the active substance.

Stand drying in sunflower, rape, maize, soybean crops:

Apply at the lower dose for the crop in weedy stands and at the higher dose in weedy areas. Treat at 20-30% crop moisture in sunflower and 30-40% grain moisture in maize.
In oilseed rape, treatment should be applied when at least 60% of the seeds in the middle third of the beet level are brownish, the beet being still green.
In soybeans, it should be applied after the pods have turned yellowish brown when the moisture content of the soybean bean seeds is around 30%. In rape and soybean, application must be by ground machinery only (bridge tractor). Its use in seed production is not recommended.
In winter wheat and winter and spring barley, for pre-harvest weed control to facilitate harvesting, only by field machinery, mainly on areas heavily infested with perennial weeds (tarack wheat, reeds, river cane, etc.), and at least 14 days before the planned harvest.
Aerial application: only in sunflower and maize, with a minimum of 10 ha of contiguous field size, with the obligatory addition of a drift inhibiting spray drift additive and the use of an anti-drift nozzle. For aerial application, the requirements laid down in the joint FVM-GKM-KvVM Decree 44/2005 (6.V.2005) must be fully complied with. Application rate: 50-60 l/ha

Application by hydraulic tractor: with a ground machine with a high ground clearance (> 150 cm), the product can only be applied with the addition of a drift inhibiting additive

AVAILABILITY

No need to mix with other herbicides. Companion Gold is a drift inhibitor, improves spray pattern and water quality.

CONTACT

Depending on the dose, its efficacy covers both perennial and seed-borne annual and biennial weeds.

The product is non-selective and must not be applied to the crop to be protected from weeds, as it may damage them.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The active substance glyphosate is taken up by the plant through the green parts containing chlorophyll. From there the active substance translocates to the roots, stems and rhizomes. The effects appear after 1-2 weeks in the form of senescence, dwarf growth, leaf and shoot browning. The process is irreversible and the affected plant dies. Since glyphosate also reaches the reproductive cells during its movement in the plant, its effects on perennial plants also lead to the death or permanent damage of the plant.
