Widely used herbicide spray
The active ingredient in Sharpen® 330 EC herbicide is pendimethalin, a member of the dinitroaniline group of herbicides. It inhibits RNA and DNA synthesis in weed cells and, as a secondary effect, disrupts hormone balance in the roots of young plants. This results in the development of tumours at the root tip and abnormal thickening of the xylem (transport tissue) as multinucleated cells form.
Sharpen® 330 EC sprayed on the soil surface after sowing, before emergence (pre-emergence), inhibits the development of secondary roots after germination of weeds, stops their shoot growth, makes the stem or the stem part under the petiole (the hypocotyl) thick and brittle, often with reddish-blue discolouration and a leathery appearance of the petiole. Its selectivity is based primarily on site selectivity, so great care must be taken in seedbed preparation and sowing depth. The degradation (decomposition) of the active ingredient is rapid under aerobic conditions and slow under anaerobic (airless) conditions.
Sharpen® 330 EC can be used effectively to control seed-borne monocotyledonous weeds and some seed-borne dicotyledonous weeds in a wide range of crops.
Benefits of using Sharpen® 330 EC:
effective against a wide range of seed-borne weeds
It also has good holding power
excellent combination partner for a wide range of weeds
wide range of uses
flexible in some crops
economical to use
Application rate 4-6 l/ha
Sharpen® 330 EC can be used for:
In legumes (winter wheat, winter barley, spring barley, rye, triticale), apply pre-emergence after sowing, before emergence, or post-emergence after crop emergence until the onset of tillering.
In rice, it should be applied after emergence of the crop at 1-2 leaf stage or pre-emergence within 3 days after sowing. In the case of pre-emergent application, it is important that the rice is sown uniformly at a depth of 2,0-3,0 cm. The treatment should be carried out in a water-free area, with no waterlogged patches in the field, as the lack of air combined with the herbicide may inhibit rice germination.
In maize (fodder, seed, pigeonpea), the product may be used pre-emergence after sowing of the crop, before emergence, or early post-emergence. For pre-emergent applications, apply at a rate of 4.0-5.0 l/ha after sowing maize to a depth of at least 3.0-4.0 cm. After corn emergence, apply alone at a rate of 4,0 l/ha until 4 leaves of the cotyledonary cotyledon and bicotyledons emerge from the kernel.
The use of the preparation in sweet maize for seed production may be authorised with the prior consent of the variety holder.
In sunflower, the preparation should be applied pre-emergence within 3 days after sowing or worked into the soil at a depth of 1,0-2,0 cm.
In tobacco, sprayed on the soil before planting (pre-planting) or worked into the soil at a depth of 2,0-4,0 cm.
In lucerne, for control of alfalfa in stands over one year old, apply in early spring when the alfalfa is dormant.
In onions, the product should be applied pre-emergenously, immediately after planting of cuttings and seeded mother onions, or within 3 days after sowing in the case of seeded mother onions. A uniform sowing depth of 3,0 cm is important. Do not use for weed control of edible green onions.
For carrots and parsley, spray pre-emergence, preemergence, 4-5 days after emergence, for celery 8-10 days before planting.
Tomato, pepper (pre-planting) seedlings should be applied 8-10 days before planting.
For cabbage, kale, cauliflower, cauliflower, kohlrabi (pre-planting) seedlings, the product should be applied 8-10 days before planting. In dry weather, working into shallow soil 1.0-2.0 cm deep will increase the effectiveness.
Potatoes should be sprayed pre-emergenously, after the final bush hills have formed, until the potato sprouts are 3,0-4,0 cm below the soil surface.
In peas and broad beans, treatment should be applied pre-emergence, within 4-5 days after sowing.
In soybeans, apply pre-emergence within 2-3 days after sowing or shallowly before sowing, working 1,0-2,0 cm into the soil.
In the case of apple (apples, pears, quince, naspolya), stone fruit (apricots, peaches, cherries, sour cherries, plums, ring hops), the product should be sprayed in early spring on a well-worked, weed-free, fine-gritty soil surface, and in dry weather, shallow application at 1,0-2,0 cm will increase the effectiveness.
For berry crops (currants, cassis, pears, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries), apply in early spring on a well-worked soil surface free of weeds and plant debris. In strawberries, the treatment should be applied in early spring when the crop is dormant.
In grapes, the preparation should be applied in early spring, before the vines fade, on a well-worked, fine-gritty soil surface.
In herb and medicinal crops (cumin, fennel, dill, anise, angelica, lesty, coriander, coriander, meadow saffron, safflower), the preparation should be sprayed pre-emergence after sowing, before emergence.
For ornamental plants (tulips, daffodils), treatments should be carried out during the dormant period of the bulbs, it is important that the bulbs are covered by a layer of soil with 3,0-4,0 cm of fine crumbs.
In forestry crops (nursery, basketgrass, conifers, ornamental shrubs, pines, Juniperus), treatments should be applied before frost, at dormancy, before the emergence of weeds.
The product is mainly effective against seed-borne monocotyledons and some seed-borne dicotyledons. It does not control perennials and weeds of the family of nesting flowers, crucifers, potatoes, mallow.
The product should not be used in greenhouses or under film!
In loose soils, higher doses are recommended on lower, more organic matter-rich, bound soils.
Aerial application is not permitted.
