Moruga Trinidad scorpio chilli: Capsicum chinense is a species of capsicum from the village of Moruga on the island of Trinidad, which is a very hot pepper. Many varieties of the original variety have been bred worldwide.
The fruits are of various colours (dark brown, red, orange, yellow...), small in size and of various irregular shapes. They are characterised by the fact that the berries are reticulated from 2/3 of the fruit and then re-sprout, but in many varieties they remain only with the stalked end. The plants grow to 60-90cm tall, with the berries in a pendulous position. In the early 2010s, Naga Jolokia and Naga Viper
the world's strongest chilli pepper.
Because of its pungent taste, it should not be eaten on its own, but used as a flavouring in sauces.
