A dark red-stemmed shrub growing to 1-2.5m tall with narrow ovate leaves 7.5-12cm long. Its funnel-shaped, white-pink flowers can be up to 10cm long.
The fruit is the seeds of the plant, which are 3-3.5cm in size and bright red.
All parts of the plant are edible. The versatility of its uses makes it a popular plant. It has medicinal properties.

Minimum temperature: 5-10 °C.
Germination is easy, taking 4-6 weeks.
