Details
Common name: Dalbergia latifolia - Bombay Blackwood - Rosewood

A világ egyik legértékesebb fái közé sorolják. It is widely distributed in South Asia, from the Himalayas to Malaysia. A hard, heavy, insect-resistant, dark brownish red tree, it is cultivated extensively in India and Indonesia. Its growth is slow. Seeds need to be soaked before sowing.
The bark is also used as a remedy for diarrhoea, worms, indigestion and leprosy.

Dalbergia - Rosewood, Rosewood
This tropical genus with 100 species belongs to the buttercup family and is a very valuable tree found in the forests of India, Africa, southern China, Central and South America. Its thin pods do not open up like most buttercups to disperse their seeds. Their flowers are small, borne in terminal racemes or in leafy clusters.

Cultivation: can be propagated by sowing seeds. They can be grown in any climate or soil if protected from frost during the initial growing period. Also, water generously in summer.

Germination: seeds usually germinate in 7-21 days. Soaking the seed in cold water for 12-24 hours will speed up germination.
