Short description of the product
Vitamon products are special yeast nutrient preparations. They promote yeast growth and thus ensure rapid fermentation initiation and complete fermentation.
- Vitamon A - special purified diammonium phosphate,
- Vitamon B - vitamin B1 (thiamine) stored in salt form,
- Vitamon Combi - a mixture of Vitamon A and Vitamon B.
A product authorised under current legislation and regulations, tested in a specialised laboratory for purity and quality.
Purpose of treatment
To promote the growth of yeast and thus ensure a better fermentation.
Higher dosages are recommended, in particular to prevent atypical ageing signs and the formation of rancid odours (hydrogen sulphide).
The Vitamon products are added to the total volume by dissolving them in water or must. Nutrient dosing is done in several portions for better absorption. Half of the quantity at the beginning of fermentation and the second half during the first third of fermentation. In all cases, it is recommended to measure the nutrient supply of the must using the Erbslöh-EasyLab yeast utilizable nitrogen test.
Product and effect
§ Vitamon A - Its use is particularly recommended in case of phosphate or nitrogen deficiency. When administered, the ammonium and phosphate content of Vitamon A provides the yeast with an additional natural source of nutrients. This allows for proper reproduction and ensures uniform fermentation.
§ Vitamon B - Vitamin B1 promotes yeast growth. Since the grapes' own vitamin B1 is used by botrytis cinerea, Vitamon B is mainly used in musts made from botrytis grapes. By using it, yeast growth is promoted and SO2 is saved.
§ Vitamon Combi - Vitamon Combi is a combination product for use in all types of musts, fermentations and sparkling wine. Vitamon Combi is used whenever the nutrient supply of the batch to be fermented is not known. With this preparation, the required amount of vitamins and nutrients are added to the must or the fermenting wine, thus helping the yeasts to multiply and improve fermentation.
Vitamon nutrients have undergone a sieving process so the products do not clump during storage.
