Can be used for:
Tannin is a brownish powder that is highly soluble in water and is suitable for vinification with gelatine. Tannin is mainly used to remove proteins and other colloidal substances.

Application and dosage:
One hl of wine usually requires 3-5 g of tannin and 5-10 g of gelatine for clarification. The tannin is dissolved in 10 times the volume of wine and poured into the wine to be clarified, stirring continuously. The gelatine is allowed to swell for 10 hours, the remaining water is poured off and dissolved in 5-10 times warm water (40oC). The resulting solution must be used within a short time. The quantity required is always determined by laboratory tests and the quantities allowed by the wine law.
