Prosilicon - foliar fertilizer for skin tissue strengthening and berry cracking prevention
Prosilicon is a fertiliser containing potassium and special silicate. It acts by strengthening the skin tissue of plants.
Mode of action of Prosilicon
It acts thanks to its potassium silicate content, which is easily incorporated into the skin tissue of the fruit, making it stronger and more resistant to fungal diseases, and more elastic, thus preventing berry cracking and reducing the risk of pathogen infestation. The potassium content helps the fruit to colour and ripen. It forms a coating on the surface of the berry (acts as a UV mirror), reflecting harmful rays and preventing the berries from burning. All these properties help the plant to cope with various stress situations.
When to use the product ?
The product should be applied as a preventive measure. At least twice from the berry growth period, at a dose of 1.5-3 litres/ha (maximum solution concentration 0.5-0.7%).
The most reliable effect is obtained with three suitable treatments, the first at setting, the second at the beginning of fruit development and the third when 50% of the fruit are ripe.
We particularly recommend the use of Prosilicon on thin-skinned varieties and table grapes.
Technological recommendations
Prosilicon is a potassium and special silicate containing fertiliser. It acts by strengthening the skin tissue of the plants. It is very suitable for cherries and sour cherries (table) grapes, where rains during the ripening period can cause considerable damage by cracking the berries. It should be used as a preventive measure, the 'rain after rain' strategy is not good here either, i.e. apply at least 2 times from the period of berry growth in doses of 1-3 litres at a maximum solution concentration of 0.7%.
It is also effective against sunburn, which is becoming a growing problem in horticulture. Due to its alkaline chemistry and skin tissue strengthening effect, it helps to "arm" plants to fight biotic stresses (e.g. increase resistance to fungal diseases).
A mixing test is recommended before each application! Do not mix with foliar fertilizers containing any metallic elements or with plant protection products. It is recommended to apply primarily as a stand-alone application.
Use and dosage:
For the conditioning of vegetable, vine and fruit crops, applied three times (at setting, at the beginning of crop development, when 50 % of the crops are fully mature) at a rate of 1,0-3,0 l/ha at a maximum concentration of 0,5-0,7 %.
Home use: 15-30 ml/10 l water.
