It flowers all year round and also bears corms. The flowers are similar to hibiscus, beautiful yellow or pink. The evergreen leaves are heart-shaped, light green, 5-20 cm in size. The stems droop when older, usually growing to a height of 3-6m.
It grows rapidly in optimal conditions.
The wood is distinguished by its yellowish-red colour and its specific gravity (0,55-0,89). It is most often used for tools, bowls, furniture, boat elements and musical instruments.
Its leaves and bark are used in dermatology.
Germination is easy in 2-4 weeks. Group planting is recommended.
