This type of palm is certainly a collector's favourite. The large, robust , nearly circular palm leaves resemble Livistone. Its trunk is smooth with remnants of palm leaves and covered with long dark brown, dense fibre. Because it tolerates cold well, it is recommended for planting in the garden. Its growth is rapid.
It likes full sun and plenty of water, but do not stand the pot in water. Plant in nutrient-rich soil suitable for palms. It is sufficient to replant the palm every 2 to 4 years. For transplanting, use a soil mixture of 2/3 compost, 1/3 peat or potting soil mixed with sand. You can also mix a fertilizer with a long-lasting effect into the soil.
Minimum temperature : - 11°C.
The germination period of the seeds can last up to 8 - 12 weeks.
