The Desiree potato is an edible variety with medium to late pink skin and light yellow flesh. Its oval tubers grow large and are characterised by a beautiful pink skin and medium deep set eyes. Bunch size average with evenly spaced size. Suitable for large yields. Non-spreading with average dry matter content. Excellent eating qualities.

Cultivation of Desirée:
Can be grown on most soil types, although slightly susceptible to scab. Desirée is a mixed-use food potato, a staple for French fries. The tuber is well tolerant of drought and mechanical stress and is not susceptible to tuber rot. It is a prolific variety with a high degree of adaptation to the environment and outstanding physiological stability. Its initial development can be accelerated by pre-sprouting.Nitrogen fertilizer requirements are average. Thanks to its long dormancy, it can be stored for a long time. Desiree potatoes show resistance to potato canker and nematodes.
Space tolerance:
The spacing of the seed tubers should be 32 cm (40,000 heads/ha) for 35/55 mm seed tubers.
Use:
Mixed-use table potatoes. Can also be used as a raw material for French fries (dry matter content approx. 21-22%).
