Why plant an ornamental plant?
Small-fruited ornamental gourds are mixed seeds that can be used as ornaments when dried. A climbing plant. The fruit is 8-12 cm in colour, hard, dries quickly.
Requirements of ornamental pumpkins:
Requires high temperatures and good, nutritious soil.
Cultivation:
When planted in situ, the taproot is deep, reaching 80-110 cm deep, and the shoot system is most similar to that of cucumbers. It can be grown with or without a support system. After sprouting, the ornamental grows to a height of about 30-40 cm, when it reaches this height it lays down.
Interesting fact about ornamental plants:
The seeds in the cavity retain their germination capacity for 7-8 years and germinate better in the second year than immediately after seed set.
Sowing in the open ground:
Can be sown from the second half of May to the first half of June.
Harvest time in the field:
Can be harvested from the second half of August to the end of October.
