Product and effects
It exerts its preservative action by inhibiting enzymes in the microbial cells. Spectrum of action on yeasts and
moulds, with partial inhibition of bacteria.
Sodium benzoate is often used in combination with potassium sorbate because the combination is more effective than
the action of each agent separately.
Dosage and administration
Dissolve the measured amount of sodium benzoate in approximately 10 times the volume of drinking water and stir vigorously
evenly in the soft drink, syrup or fruit or vegetable juice of a fruit or vegetable can
spread evenly.
Recommended dosage amounts:
Soft drinks, water-based syrups 0,3 g/l
Fruit syrups 0,2 g / litre
Jams, jellies, marmalades 0,3 g / litre
Vegetable and fruit preserves 0,3 g/l
For soft drinks, it is recommended to use a combination of potassium sorbate and a preservative.
Recommended dosage: potassium sorbate 0,3 g/l, sodium benzoate 0,2 g/l.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Immediately reseal the opened package tightly.
Shelf life
The product will keep for 2 years if stored properly in unopened packages.
