The extremely sweet flavour makes it ideal for fresh consumption, but it is also excellent in salads. It has a long growing season, from July to autumn, and produces a continuous and abundant crop. Its seedlings are grown in a greenhouse or in a greenhouse until planting in May. It is nutrient- and water-demanding, and heat-loving.
