LIBEL mechanical antifreezers are made of "styrofoam". It is a device that floats on the surface of the water and, depending on the type, keeps a hole of 25 or 40 cm in diameter ice-free in the water, thus providing oxygen to the plants and fish living in the water. These devices prevent freezing of the lake down to -20°C, thus both removing toxic gases and providing oxygen (or the necessary amount of fish food) to the lake water. If your pond does freeze over, be careful when breaking the ice cover, as hitting the ice with force (e.g. with an axe, etc.) can/may cause sound effects that are harmful to the fish.
