These devices prevent freezing of the lake down to -20°C, thus both removing toxic gases and providing oxygen (or the necessary amount of fish food) to the lake water. If your pond does freeze over, be careful when breaking the ice cover, as hitting the ice with force (e.g. with an axe, etc.) can/may cause sound effects that are harmful to the fish. OXY 100 - LIBEL pond aeration pump. In winter, the air supply pump helps to keep a gap in the ice free.
