The product contains spores and toxin crystals of the naturally occurring bacterial species Bacillus thuringiensis var. tenebrionis, which are ingested by the pest insect larvae through their mouthparts. After ingestion of the spray, the pest stops feeding within about 1 hour and dies after 6-7 days due to infection. The product is completely harmless to the environment (bees, fish, beneficial organisms, warm-blooded animals) and is a selective insecticide. Novodor FC is only effective against the larvae of leaf-eating insects. A particular advantage of the product is that it has a 1 day shelf-life, meaning that tomatoes treated with the product can be consumed the day after spraying. Novodor is most effective against young potato beetle larvae at L1 - L2 development, so treatments should be applied at the beginning of the larval period. In the case of delayed oviposition and consequent prolonged larval emergence, it is recommended to repeat spraying after 7-10 days. Repeated spraying should also be prepared if the first spraying occurs during the period of vigorous growth of the potato leaf surface. Against mixed-age larvae containing many L3-L4 larvae, the use of this product is not recommended. The amount of spray should always be determined according to the size of the foliage of the treated plant. Optimum temperature when spraying: 15-25 °C. Avoid spraying in strong sunshine, early evening or early morning spraying is recommended on hot summer days. Rain resistance: if rain falls within 6 hours after spraying, the treatment must be repeated! Compatibility: Novodor cannot be mixed with alkaline pesticides.
