The 39% sodium molybdenate can be used to add the trace element molybdenum in cultures.

The plant needs molybdenum. Molybdenum is used by the plant to convert nitrate into proteins and is essential for certain plant hormones. In the case of molybdenum deficiency, developmental abnormalities and yellowing of young leaves can be observed. In older leaves, the same deficiency can be recognised only by yellowing.

! Note: excessive use of this fertiliser may cause copper deficiency in the plant, which can be recognised by the death of buds, meristems and shoots, excessive leaf growth (too few fruits), drooping of the plant, yellowing or greying of the leaves, or curling of the leaves.
