Bövi microbiological formulation of spores and conidia of two insect pathogenic hyperparasitic fungal strains Beauveria bassiana
which, when multiplied in soil, significantly reduce the habitat and reproduction of soil-dwelling pests and thus their damage. This allows the root system and the plant to grow undisturbed. Recommended for field crops, vegetables, vines and fruit plantsfor pre-treatment of crops, fruit and vegetable plants, lawns and horticultural crops before planting and for maintenance soil treatment.
Biological control in integrated pest management

The tools for integrated pest management are numerous and can be grouped into four categories:

As the milder and more consistent weather in recent years has led to higher pest infestation rates, thepressure of pests, the high investment costs of stationary preventive control of larvae in high-investment crops is the mostintegrated pest management principles is strongly recommended for all crops.
Soil inoculated with Bövi insect repellent forms a protective layer at the depth of sowing. Pests that emerge from the soil in the spring and retreat into the soil in the autumn can become infected by penetrating the protective layer. In both cases, a layer of inoculated soil is the solution to prevent the pests from multiplying. Our experiments on soil in arable and vegetable crops have shown that Bövi drastically reduces the number of larvae, mealybugs and wireworms and controls their reproduction properly.
Mechanism of action:
The microorganisms in Bövi formulation infect most soil-dwelling pests on contact.
Most of Bövi's fungi are resistant to most of the insect pathogens:
- The spores of one strain infect through the respiratory and/or oral cavity, causing destruction in the digestive tract and
in the digestive tract and circulation, together with the enzymes and toxins that destroy body tissues
toxins.
- The spores of the other strain germinate on the outer surface of the pest and then penetrate the insect's body, where the fatal infection takes place.
The body of the dead pest is completely coated by the mycelium of the hyperparasitic fungus Beauveria bassiana and then decomposed. The spores remain viable in this environment for a long time, allowing further infestation of the pest.
Application and dosage
As the pest must come into contact with the micro-organisms of the Bövi, accurate application and correct timing are essential. The Bövi formulation is a ready-to-use liquid immediately after opening and does not need to be pre-treated or pre-soaked.
The product can be mixed in 300-500 litres of chlorine-free water and applied with a field sprayer equipped with a liquid fertiliser nozzle at a maximum rate of application of 1 % per hour. Spray onto the soil at a pressure of max. 2 bar with a liquid agricultural sprayer with a 300 ml liquid fertiliser at a pressure of max. 2 bar and spray into the soil at a short depth of the crop.
For rubber, root vegetables, potatoes:
It is advisable to rotate below the depth of the future tuber or potato before planting or bush-hilling.
In orchards and vines:
Sowing in the row spacing, as close as possible to the vine, is recommended.
In vegetable crops:
In foliage and ornamental nurseries, can be applied through a drip system, up to 2-3 applications if necessary.
In nurseries, in flower gardens and in floricultural crops, can be applied in two or three stages. Spraying should be scheduled for early morning or late evening to avoid damage to the micro-organisms in the formulation by strong sunlight.
Attention!
Do not spray in bright sunlight or strong winds! Co-application with plant protection products and fertilisers is possible, but a mixability test must be carried out first.
It can be well mixed and applied with any knife that does not have fungicidal activity.
It should not be used in combination with Trichoderma products and a waiting period of 6 weeks is required between treatments.
