Areas of application

Potassium is an essential macro-nutrient for improving the quality of fruit and vegetables and grapes. Improved crop quality is reflected in increased fruit size, increased sugar formation, more intense colouring and intense aroma formation. Potassium uptake and transport by plants is generally slowed in dry and bright sunny weather and is often inhibited in some soils (with strong K fixation), so it is advisable to apply potassium as a foliar fertiliser in line with the ripening process of the plants.

Use and dosages

Apple crops: 1-2 applications before harvest to enhance yield quality, sugar content and colouring at 3,0-5,0 l/ha.

Stone fruit: 2-3 times before harvest to enhance yield quality, sugar content and colouring at 3,0-5,0 l/ha.

Strawberries: 3 to 4 times during ripening, in the same run as the crop protection work, at 4,0 to 6,0 l/ha.

Vegetable crops: 2-3 times during ripening at a dose of 3,0-5,0 l/ha.

Sugar beet: 1 to 2 applications after row closure to promote sugar production at 3,0-5,0 l/ha.

Potatoes: at 3,0-5,0 l/ha in vegetation during tuber development and ripening.

For greater effect, it is advisable to apply Wuxal® Ascofol in combination with a biostimulant.
