Chemically pure, crystalline vitamin C specially formulated for beverage treatment.
Chemically: L(+)-ascorbic acid.
Treatment purpose
Protection against oxidation to stabilise flavourings.
Product and effects
Ascorbic acid is an effective antioxidant, although it is not a substitute for the necessary SO2 content in wine,
but its reducing power ensures the preservation of aromas and intensifies the characteristic bouquet of the wine
of the wine.
The wines retain their freshness and fruitiness for longer.
The addition of ascorbic acid is particularly effective in wines with low acidity.
Dosage and application
The authorised dose is 150 mg/l, but often about 50 mg/l is sufficient.
It is recommended to carry out preliminary tests to determine the required dosage.
Ascorbic acid is dissolved in 30 times the volume of wine and evenly distributed in the wine to be treated.
The substance is only effective in wine with a free SO2 content of at least 25 mg/l.
Storage
