Description:
Anemone St. Brigid (Anemone coronaria) will surprise you with its double-flowered blooms in a striking mix of colours. This anemone variety is a trouble-free garden plant that blooms easily. Moreover, it is an excellent cut flower and combines beautifully with other summer bulbs.
Planting:
Before planting, place the bulbs of the marigold in lukewarm water for a few hours. For example, plant the cucurbits for a few hours before planting. Plant the tubers 5-7 cm deep and about 7 cm apart (in 5 cm pots). For abundant flowering, choose a fully sunny area for planting.
Care:
Anemones grow well in fertile, humus-rich soil. Anemone St. Brigid also grows well in a pretty pot or planter. Water the anemone regularly as the soil around the bulbs should not dry out. Regular cutting of the dead flowers will encourage re-blooming. You can also pull the bulbs out of the ground after the first frost and overwinter them frost-free. The flowers will stay well in the vase for a long time. Pick the flowers preferably early in the morning. Cut the stems with sharp pruning shears or flower scissors. Remove the lower leaves from the anemone and immediately place the stems in a vase of lukewarm water.
