Description:
This sword flower mix can bloom until autumn. These large-flowered swordflowers are rich in flowers and grow to 100 cm. Recommended for the summer flower garden.
Planting:
You can plant the swordflower tubers in spring at a depth of about 7-10 cm. First loosen the soil well and spread a layer of sand at the bottom of the planting hole. This will allow rainwater to drain away well under the tubers. Space the tubers 10-12 cm apart. When planting, add good quality potting soil. Mix the heavy (clay) soil with sand before planting.
Care:
This large-flowered swordflower likes to grow in a warm, sunny spot. These large-flowered swordflowers have mixed colours and are therefore easy to combine. You can make special combinations with it in beds of tall perennials and dahlias. Plant the swordflowers in a different place each year if possible. Do you use swordflowers as cut flowers? Pick off the stems when the lower flower opens, preferably early in the morning. Immediately place the stems in a vase of lukewarm water with cut flower water.
