Description:
The large-flowered cactus dahlia Alfred Grille is a rewarding summer flower that will delight for months. Alfred Grille blooms all summer from July until the first frosts. The Alfred Grille grows to about 70 cm. tall. This dahlia is therefore also ideal for planting in pots on the patio or balcony.
Planting:
Dahlia tubers can be planted in spring. Alfred Grille is frost sensitive, so be careful of late night frosts. Dig a wide planting hole, loosen the soil and fill with good potting soil. Carefully place the tubers in the planting hole and cover with 3-5 cm of soil. Plant the tubers 30-60 cm apart.
Care:
Water the tubers immediately after planting. dahlias bloom most profusely in full sun. Store the tubers in a frost-free place after flowering and you can enjoy them for years. Alfred Grille combines well with perennials and other varieties of dahlias. The pink flowers are a real eye-catcher in the border. Alfred Grille is also an excellent cut flower and has a long vase life. The best time to pick dahlias is early in the day. Place the sprouts immediately in lukewarm water with cut flowering pots.
