The large number of lavender varieties, cultivars and hybrids can be distinguished by the colour of the flower and its volatile oil content, and therefore the uses of these plants vary widely. Lavender can be grown in the open air, in beds, rock gardens or even in pots on terraces and balconies.

The reader is given an insight into the world of species, subspecies and hybrids living and growing freely in all parts of the world, while at the same time the various uses of lavender are presented, whether for health, beauty, cooking, household or even gardening.
