Rockwool cubes are made from volcanic rock, using a high heat treatment process. Being a neutral medium, it is ideal for use in hydroponics. It is inherently sterile and is a water and nutrient saving medium. It has a neutral EC and pH value, so it should be soaked in a solution with a pH of 5.5-5.8 before use. When dry, it can be rewetted and reused.
