A biennial plant 80-90 cm tall, with many small purple flowers on richly branched stems. After ripening, a white pearl-coloured membrane, resembling a coin, is left behind, hence the name Judas money, which is the ornament of the dry plant. It prefers loose, well-drained soil and should be planted in a semi-shaded area. Flowering period is from May to July.

Use: cut flowers, bouquet decoration, dry flowers.
