Proposed plant protection technology
In Brassica, the timing of control of white butterflies (cabbage moth, turnip moth) and owl moth larvae is of crucial importance. Spraying should be carried out after swarming observation against young (L1-L2) developmental stage caterpillars. It is recommended to repeat the treatment 1-2 times every 7-14 days. Spintor must be in contact with the caterpillars, it should not be used against larvae already burrowed into the cabbage head.
In potatoes, spraying should be timed to coincide with the mass emergence of L1-2 stage larvae. The product is effective against larvae. It is recommended to repeat the treatment 1-2 times every 7-14 days, depending on the intensity of emergence.
In sown peppers and ornamentals, control of western flower thrips by blue or yellow sticky leaf swarming observation is recommended from the onset of establishment or emergence, 2+1 or 1+2 times, at 5-7 day intervals, with other treatments.
In sprouted peppers, the first spraying against the cotton aphid should be timed against young (L1-L2) caterpillars. The frequency of treatments should be chosen according to the average daily temperature of the growing equipment. It is recommended to apply every 7 days below 25°C and every 5 days above 25°C.
In grapes, control of grape moths should be carried out at the beginning of the larval period and should be repeated in blocks of 1 to 2 times every 7 to 14 days, depending on the intensity of the swarming.
In grafted crops, to avoid the development of resistance, the product may be used up to 3 times in a growing cycle.
In berries (blueberries, currants, cassis, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries), control of spotted knapweed muslica is recommended in the early stages of fruit ripening, based on yellow sticky mildew forecasting. The treatment should be repeated after 7 days for blueberries, currants, cranberries and after 10 days for strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, depending on the rate of establishment. Spraying against caterpillars of the glasswinged currant caterpillar should be timed to control young larvae (L1-2 development stage). Repeat treatment is justified in case of prolonged swarming.
Recommended water volumes for treatments. The amount of spray to be applied should be selected according to the development, canopy area and cultivation method of the crop to be treated and the type of plant protection machinery used. In cabbage and peppers, the use of an adhesion promoter is justified. In ornamentals, a phytotoxicity test should be carried out prior to treatment.
Do not use hot mist equipment for application of the preparation.
Mixing instructions
In case of mixing with foliar fertilisers, please contact the foliar fertiliser manufacturer. Ask our consultants for an opinion on mixability before treatment! In all cases, a mixing test is recommended!
Can be used 3 times per growing season, except for berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, currants, cassis, cassis) where it can be used 2 times
Mechanism of action
The active ingredient of the preparation, spinosad, is a natural product obtained from the fermentation activity of the bacterium Saccharopolyspora spinosa, which is found in soil. It has very low toxicity to humans and warm-blooded organisms. The pests take up the active substance by feeding and feeding on it, while the effect of the stomach poison is 5-10 times stronger than the contact effect. The first effect occurs within a few minutes of ingestion, when irreversible paralysis occurs, followed within a few hours by the death of the pest. Spinosad is also effective on Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera and Thysanoptera. In addition to these, it is also effective on leafhoppers and earwigs. Spinosad is a separate active ingredient group that does not show cross-resistance to other insecticides and is therefore effective against resistant species (apple moth, ilonca, whitefly, western flower thrips).

The preparation is moderately toxic to quail wasps, inhibiting their larval reproduction. In the case of biological control of the greenhouse moth, the Encarsia formosa parasitoid can be planted at least 1 week after treatment. The bumblebee hives should be closed 1,5-2 hours before control and kept closed until the spray drops have dried. For use in AKG programmes
