Silvery blue Arizona cypress (Cupressus arizonica glauca)

Contents of the package 2 g

In favourable conditions it can reach a height of 20-30 m, but usually only grows to 12-15 m. Its crown has a broader conical shape. When free-standing, it is branchy from the base (does not bald) even when old. Its reddish brown bark peels off in longitudinal strips.

Its shoots initially break upwards, then spread out horizontally. The blue-green to silvery ashy scales are arranged in pairs across.

Nut-sized, spherical cones green when young, greenish brown when mature. Once mature, the dry scales open up.

A fast-growing evergreen.

Its native habitat is arid semi-desert with cold winters, making it reliably winter-hardy; one of the most resistant cypresses. It thrives in almost any soil and is lime-tolerant. During the growing season, it requires warmth and sunlight; its shoots only develop properly in such places.

It tolerates shearing well and can be grown into a beautiful hedge.
