Myclobutanil is a triazole (FRAC G). The chemical is rapidly absorbed at the point of application to the plant surface after treatment and is systemic (absorbable). It inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis, which is necessary for the fungus to continue to grow and in its absence the fungus dies. Systhane 20 EW has an 8-10 day preventive and 72 hour curative effect.

Treatments for scab in apples and pears should be initiated preventively during the period of ascospore spreading on a forecast basis and continued in blocks of 10 to 12 days depending on the severity of the infestation. Exposure more than 3 times per control season is not recommended. For apple powdery mildew, the product is effective alone, but in an epidemic situation it should be combined with a sulphur active product for mildew susceptible varieties (e.g. Idared). Controls should be carried out from the red bud stage onwards with a 10-14 day spray cycle. The effectiveness of the control is greatly improved by professional pruning. After intensive shoot growth, further application of the product is not recommended. Dose: 5 ml/10 l water.

In Meggy and Cherry, against moniliaceous shoot and flower infection, in case of strong infection pressure, control should be started at white or red bud stage and repeated at full flowering and petal fall. The effectiveness of control is greatly enhanced by the continuous removal of diseased parts by pruning. In wet weather, when the fruit is damaged (hail, heavy insect damage), a single application of protection is recommended before ripening to prevent moniliaceous fruit rot. Dose: 5 ml/10 l water.

In grapes, preventive control of powdery mildew should be started on the basis of a forecast. After major infestations in the previous year, spraying should be started at the beginning of flowering and repeated every 10-14 days depending on the development of the infestation. In the case of an outbreak, a higher dose is recommended and the product should be used in rotation or in combination with the fungicide meptyldinocap. Treatments against black rot are recommended 1-3 times at 10-14 days intervals after the flower caps have fallen. Dose: 2,5 ml/10 l water.

In bell peppers, tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes and cucumbers, treatments against powdery mildew in sprouted conditions should be started after the initial symptoms appear, taking into account the infection pressure, and repeated at intervals of 8 to 12 days. In a closed production facility, the effectiveness of control can be significantly increased by timely aeration and continuous removal of infected plant parts. Dose: 5 ml/10 l water.

For reliable protection against powdery mildew in strawberries and currants, it is recommended to apply the preparation at the appearance of flower buds, at the beginning of flowering and at main flowering. Dose: 10 ml/10 l water.

In ornamental plants, treatments against powdery mildew and rust should be started at the onset of symptoms and repeated depending on the severity of the infestation. Dose: 2,5 -7,5 ml/10 l water.
