It has a large porous surface area, making it easy for nitrifying bacteria to adhere to and engulf algae-forming cells. It is recommended to change the substrate in the pond water filter seasonally. The replaced substrate can be mixed with the soil of the aquatic plants. Substrate spread on the pond bottom or placed in baskets does not need to be changed. This rock can be used both as a filter medium for mechanical filters and in aquatic plant baskets or spread on the pond bottom.
