Coffea canephora - Coffee Bush - Robusta Coffee

An umbrella-shaped small tree that can reach a height of 10m. Originally found in the western parts of tropical Africa and northern Angola, it is also widely cultivated in other areas.
Its leaves are dark green, shiny, wavy-edged and fragrant. It is the second most consumed and popular coffee variety in the world.

COFFEA
Coffee shrub

Known as the source of coffee beans, this tropical African and Asian genus belongs to the wheat family (Rubiaceae) and contains about 40 species of evergreen shrubs and small trees.
Coffea arabica and Caffea canephora are the most common species in large-scale coffee cultivation. The leafy honeysuckles produce clusters of attractive, white, fragrant flowers from which colourful, fleshy fruits develop. It contains coffee beans.

Cultivation:
High temperatures are essential for a good crop; as an ornamental plant, store in a frost-free place. It prefers a semi-shaded place.
The soil should be well drained and rich in nutrients.

Minimum temperature: 10 °C.
Sensitive to frost. Seed germination time is about 3 to 4 weeks.
