An evergreen tree native to Central America and the Caribbean. Its leaves become shiny when older and its flowers are yellowish green. The fruit is elongated, dark green, with a sourish taste, the skin is covered with curved spines and the flesh is soft and white.
The plant reaches a height of 6 m in natural conditions.

ANNONA
Genus of evergreen to semi-evergreen shrubs and trees, widespread in Africa and America. Many are commercially important fruits, especially Annona squamosa and Annona cherimola. Their stamens and fruits are held together by 6 thick, fleshy petals in a dense mass.
Cultivation:
They prefer warm tropical and subtropical climates, sheltered from the wind. They grow best in a sunny location in moist, well-drained, humusy soil. They can flower and fruit all year round.
