Active ingredient: 5% quizalofop-P-ethyl.
Formulation: EC (emulsion forming concentrate)

Quizalofop-P-ethyl, belonging to the group of aryloxyphenoxypropionates, inhibits the function of the enzyme acetyl-S-CoA-carboxylase when absorbed into the plant and transported in the plant transport system. It thereby prevents the biosynthesis of fatty acid.

Mode of action, selectivity:
The active ingredient of Targa Super enters the plant through the green parts (foliar herbicide), is rapidly absorbed and well transported in the plant, reaching the underground rhizomes. It selectively kills most grasses (monocots) in dicot crops.
It degrades meristematic tissues by inhibiting fatty acid biosynthesis, so that effects are seen in the dividing tissues of shoot and root. Symptoms appear 12-14 days after treatment. The purplish discolouration of the nodules indicates dead dividing tissues. The plant can be easily 'pulled apart' along the nodules.

Dose 1-2,5 l/ha according to label instructions.

Treatments should be applied before root change (2-3 leaf stage of weeds) for seed-sprouting (annual) weeds and at 20-30 cm of plant development for perennial weeds. Higher doses should be used in case of heavy infestation. If a prolonged emergence of weeds is expected, better efficacy can be achieved by applying the indicated doses in a split treatment.
In sunflowers more than six leaves advanced, application at a dose higher than 1,5 l/ha is not recommended.
The treatment should be applied from 4-6 leaves to 8-10 leaves in sugar beet, 5-15 cm phenological sub-pot in potatoes, sunflower, rape, flax
4-6 leaves, soybean, alfalfa 5-15 cm, peas, beans 8-10 cm, in apple and vine crops it can be carried out in the growing season at 3-5 leaves of weeds adapted to the weed development.
In autumn cabbage canola, it may be used to kill cereal weeds before weed root rotation (2-3 leaf stage) at a rate of 0,4-0,6 l/ha.
In forestry, the preparation should be sprayed at the beginning of the intensive growth stage of the weed. Delayed treatment reduces the effectiveness.
Other technological recommendations:
For better efficacy, it is advisable to wait until the annual weeds have grown a green surface of sufficient size. It is also important that the monocots are growing vigorously at the time of application. Prolonged drought or cool weather may weaken the effect. Application by split application has a higher efficacy. For example, an application of 0.5+0.5 or 0.5+0.7 l/ha against sorghum halepense will provide weed control even in the case of prolonged emergence. When applied correctly, Targa Super will also inhibit resprouting the following year. For perennial/arable weeds, ensure that there are no long root connections (50-100 cm). Such root connections increase the possibility of resprouting.
Mixability:
Targa Super can usually be mixed with herbicides for control of dicotyledonous weeds. It is not miscible with phenoxy herbicides such as 2,4 D, MCPA, etc. In all cases, a field mixing test is recommended. The spray must be applied immediately after mixing and within 12 hours at the latest. Do not use fertiliser in the Targa Superrel tank mix.
