Where do we stick the garlic?
Mark out your garlic bed in a sunny part of the garden with good growing conditions, but not freshly fertilised. Deep digging is rewarded.

Planting date:
Usually mid-October for autumn varieties, as early as possible for spring varieties, preferably in the first half of March, as soon as soil conditions allow.
Planting method:
Hand-pick the garlic heads into cloves in the days before planting. Insert one or two cloves into the soil along a string or grader to a depth of 3 to 6 cm, then gently rake the surface.
Grading distance:
25- 30 cm
Top spacing:
10 cm.
Care:
Weeding is the first thing to do. Mowing should only be done shallowly.
Harvesting:
June to July, depending on the time of planting. Picked bulbs should be left to dry in a covered, airy place and then cleaned.
