Mode of action and effectiveness
Oily copper sulphur is a factory combination of copper oxychloride, sulphur and mineral oil, so you can protect against bacterial and fungal diseases and pests in a single formulation at rest.

Copper inhibits degradation processes, blocking the pyrosoluble dehydrogenase enzyme system by binding SH groups in glycolysis. Its fungicidal action lies in the accumulation of CU 2+ ions in the spore. It is characterised by a broad spectrum of action: bacterial diseases, peronospora, needle dieback, monilia, leaf curl.

Sulphur is converted into hydrogen sulphide in the fungus, which has fungicidal activity. It is effective against powdery mildew and has miticidal activity.

The oil forms a coating on the surface of the pests, thus inhibiting their respiration. It has good activity against insect pests: scale insects, mites, aphids, moths.

When spraying by flushing, it is very important to choose the time of spraying. If sprayed too early, the pests will not yet have started their life activities, while late spraying may cause scorch. Treatment should be carried out close to bud break, when the pesticides can penetrate more easily under the bud leaf. Careful, timely flushing spraying will significantly increase the effectiveness of chemical control during the growing season. The brine wash treatment is used to seal the small to large wound areas created during pruning.

Recommendations for use
In apple orchards, it is effective against bacterial and fungal blight, needle blight, powdery mildew. The control of the Californian shield aphid is based on the control of the aphid with a detergent, in which case a spray can be used in concentrations effective against the aphid. It is also effective against drift moths, the overwintering generation of budworm beetles and to control spider mites. The product can be used up to bud break at a concentration of 3-4%.

In grapes, mainly for the prevention of pathogens (Esca) attacking woody parts (trunk, cordon arm). It is effective against powdery mildew, scale insects, leafhoppers, cankers, moths. The preparation can be used up to woolly stage at a concentration of 4%.

Washing should be carried out by soaking in large quantities (about 1000-1200 litres of water) to ensure uniform coverage of trunks and branches.

In crops of stone fruits, berries, ornamental trees, ornamental shrubs, it is advisable to apply 1 or 2 sprays in dormant season (at the latest at bud break). The quantity of spray should be chosen according to the size of the foliage and the type of machinery used.
