A medium-sized, high-yielding, disease-resistant Dutch hybrid. The tubers are very thick and heavy. Sowing: from mid-April to the end of June, 1-2 weeks apart. Size: 70x25 cm. Harvesting: start harvesting when the seeds have sprouted in the upper third of the tube and are light yellow in colour. For fresh consumption, boil the tubes for only 10 minutes! The difference with feed maize is that the leaves are thinner, the sugar content of the kernels is much higher and they are more slowly converted into starch. In addition to the traditional standard sweet varieties, there are also sugar-rich and super sweet varieties. The former are similar in texture to the normal sweet and are generally lighter in colour. Super sweet varieties have a more crunchy eye and the highest sugar content (9-12% sugar, compared to 3-6% for normal sweet varieties).
