Mechanism of action: contains the active ingredient, copper II ions, in a bound form, thus minimising the risk of scorching. In the manufacturing process, the copper crystal size is reduced to the nanometre scale, so the specific surface area is also larger than that of the "conventional" copper product, resulting in better coverage, even against bacterial diseases.
The copper II ion is taken up by the spore during germination and accumulates until it reaches a high enough concentration to kill the spore cell. This activity is limited to the prevention of spore germination, so it must be deposited on the plants before the spores germinate. Cuproxat FW Fungicide is the first copper formulation that is nearly 100% ion-free. The invaluable advantage of this is that the product does not actually sporulate at any stage of vegetation, so it can be used in virtually any phenological state.
